Math Celebrations of Knowledge Coming Up!

It's that time of year!

7th and 8th grade received their reviews for their "Celebrations" (tests) today.  The reviews are due Monday.  We will review Monday and Tuesday for their Celebrations, which will take place on Wednesday.

7th grade topics: Operations with integers, distributive properties, additive and multiplicative inverses, absolute value, converting decimals, percents, and fractions (review).

8th grade topics: Converting decimals, percents, and fractions (review), converting repeating decimals to fractions, irrational vs. rational numbers, and approximating irrational numbers (square root of 17).

The 7th and 8th grade had the chance to hear from some of our students from last year! We talked a lot about being ready for high school and what skills would be helpful for our middle schoolers, regardless of what high school they choose. 7th Grade Social Studies

7th Grade Social Studies 7th Grade was given a project outline/requirements/instructions in class today.  This project will take the place of a written exam over chapter 3.  Students will be responsible for creating a written and oral presentation over a location they have chosen.  Students will need to complete research over the weekend so they are prepared to work in class Monday.  A helpful website has been posted under Social Studies Links for this project.    All projects will be due Thursday, Nov. 7th.   The oral presentations will take place in class Thursday and Friday; students are encouraged to have props and be creative!

Quarter 2 projects

Students received their quarter two projects today. We will work with these as we work through our reading this quarter.
