Class Update

Students have been gearing up for their figurative language test next week, which will happen on Wednesday, Sept. 28th for both 7th and 8th grades. They have all of their study materials after today.

Both grades are also working on their Bag a Book project this week. I always love seeing what they come up with!




8th graders worked hard -- and had fun -- with their allusions stories! They were so excited to share. 


Seventh graders found figurative language outside. One group had peace and quiet, mostly writing about the caterpillars and geese. The other group observed kindergarten recess, so their sentences had a lot more action! Both groups did a really nice job.

The 7th and 8th grade had the chance to hear from some of our students from last year! We talked a lot about being ready for high school and what skills would be helpful for our middle schoolers, regardless of what high school they choose. 7th Grade Social Studies

7th Grade Social Studies 7th Grade was given a project outline/requirements/instructions in class today.  This project will take the place of a written exam over chapter 3.  Students will be responsible for creating a written and oral presentation over a location they have chosen.  Students will need to complete research over the weekend so they are prepared to work in class Monday.  A helpful website has been posted under Social Studies Links for this project.    All projects will be due Thursday, Nov. 7th.   The oral presentations will take place in class Thursday and Friday; students are encouraged to have props and be creative!

Quarter 2 projects

Students received their quarter two projects today. We will work with these as we work through our reading this quarter.
