ELA Update

Dear families,

We have finished our 7th and 8th grade novels. 7th graders have had their study guides for their test Monday, and we spent today in class reviewing. The test will be over vocabulary for Ch. 7-12 and applying literary terms to the novel.

8th graders received their study guides today for their test on Tuesday over compound sentences and applying literary terms to To Kill a Mockingbird. We spent all class today reviewing and will spend Monday reviewing more. The students can complete the study guide for extra credit.

8th graders working on making a tool to help them remember compound sentences. 

Each group was assigned a FANBOY (for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so). 


The 7th grade "casting call" projects were fun to read!

We talked a lot about being ready for high school and what skills would be helpful for our middle schoolers, regardless of what high school they choose. 7th Grade Social Studies

7th Grade Social Studies 7th Grade was given a project outline/requirements/instructions in class today.  This project will take the place of a written exam over chapter 3.  Students will be responsible for creating a written and oral presentation over a location they have chosen.  Students will need to complete research over the weekend so they are prepared to work in class Monday.  A helpful website has been posted under Social Studies Links for this project.    All projects will be due Thursday, Nov. 7th.   The oral presentations will take place in class Thursday and Friday; students are encouraged to have props and be creative!

Quarter 2 projects

Students received their quarter two projects today. We will work with these as we work through our reading this quarter.
