ELA Update

One student is working on a never-ending comic! 

We finished MAPS this week on Tuesday and Wednesday. Eighth graders worked on writing their About the Authors and typed them up today. We also sent our veteran's letters off. We've also been working on subjects and verbs and will take a quiz next week. The students are showing great growth!

Next week, in both 7th and 8th grade, we'll be working on figurative language. We started with a pre-test and will continue with notes. There will be a test in three weeks. 8th graders will also be working on a digital portfolio that we're creating this year and complete their first Article of the Week.

The 7th and 8th grade had the chance to hear from some of our students from last year! We talked a lot about being ready for high school and what skills would be helpful for our middle schoolers, regardless of what high school they choose. 7th Grade Social Studies

7th Grade Social Studies 7th Grade was given a project outline/requirements/instructions in class today.  This project will take the place of a written exam over chapter 3.  Students will be responsible for creating a written and oral presentation over a location they have chosen.  Students will need to complete research over the weekend so they are prepared to work in class Monday.  A helpful website has been posted under Social Studies Links for this project.    All projects will be due Thursday, Nov. 7th.   The oral presentations will take place in class Thursday and Friday; students are encouraged to have props and be creative!

Quarter 2 projects

Students received their quarter two projects today. We will work with these as we work through our reading this quarter.
