Class Update

It's been a good but busy week in Reading. 8th graders finished their "Where I'm From" poems and started working on their narrative videos. We've been having fun planning our class magazine. Today, for April Fool's, I walked in, and my 8th graders decided we'd be having class faced the other direction!

7th graders finished reading "The Most Dangerous Game" this week. Many of them said it was their favorite short story they've ever read. We spent today working on a creative writing project in partners that ties into the story. Next week, we'll work on mapping the plot and figuring out theme and conflict. They've been very engaged!

The 7th and 8th grade had the chance to hear from some of our students from last year! We talked a lot about being ready for high school and what skills would be helpful for our middle schoolers, regardless of what high school they choose. 7th Grade Social Studies

7th Grade Social Studies 7th Grade was given a project outline/requirements/instructions in class today.  This project will take the place of a written exam over chapter 3.  Students will be responsible for creating a written and oral presentation over a location they have chosen.  Students will need to complete research over the weekend so they are prepared to work in class Monday.  A helpful website has been posted under Social Studies Links for this project.    All projects will be due Thursday, Nov. 7th.   The oral presentations will take place in class Thursday and Friday; students are encouraged to have props and be creative!

Quarter 2 projects

Students received their quarter two projects today. We will work with these as we work through our reading this quarter.
