End of quarter

Students have done quality work this quarter on our novel units. I loved reading quotes from the students on the test where they said: 

"The book was AMAZING. This is definitely a book I will reread. It surprised me." 

"I had read this book once before, but I hadn't understood the messages. Now I get them. This was my favorite unit!"

I liked seeing the products the students made to go along with the themes and plots of the novel. I hope your child learned from and enjoyed their novel!

We talked a lot about being ready for high school and what skills would be helpful for our middle schoolers, regardless of what high school they choose. 7th Grade Social Studies

7th Grade Social Studies 7th Grade was given a project outline/requirements/instructions in class today.  This project will take the place of a written exam over chapter 3.  Students will be responsible for creating a written and oral presentation over a location they have chosen.  Students will need to complete research over the weekend so they are prepared to work in class Monday.  A helpful website has been posted under Social Studies Links for this project.    All projects will be due Thursday, Nov. 7th.   The oral presentations will take place in class Thursday and Friday; students are encouraged to have props and be creative!

Quarter 2 projects

Students received their quarter two projects today. We will work with these as we work through our reading this quarter.
