First Week

Welcome back to school! It's been a wonderful first week back! I'm looking forward to having a great year. Book talks and the reading challenge (30 books!) have started this year. Students are reading each day in class and should be reading 15-20 minutes at home. We're working on setting up our Writer's Notebooks and will begin working on Scope Magazine and figurative language in the next weeks. Eighth graders will be starting Membean this week. We saw really impressive MAP score increases in the vocabulary section last year because of Membean. Way to go! Fall MAP testing will start next week.

After spending the summer in Ethiopia, I realized even more how blessed we are here to learn!

First House activity -- making puzzle pieces describing who we are and how we all fit together

Make sure to have a book in class ... even if your dog did eat it. ;)

7th graders did an awesome job working with their 1st-grade buddies to teach them about good Mass behavior. Their 1st-grade buddies are also usually in their Faith Families, which will start Wednesday.

Working on genuflecting. Hard to believe the 7th graders were this little once!
