Capitol Field Trip

We had a great time on our field trip to the Kansas Capitol. Thanks, Mrs. Bright and Mrs. Wranosky, for planning a great trip!

Students answered questions in the House of Representatives. We had a great tour guide!

During this meeting, students debated if uniforms should be mandated in all schools across Kansas. 

Members of each side had a chance to present. They did a great job!

The 7th and 8th grade had the chance to hear from some of our students from last year! We talked a lot about being ready for high school and what skills would be helpful for our middle schoolers, regardless of what high school they choose. 7th Grade Social Studies

7th Grade Social Studies 7th Grade was given a project outline/requirements/instructions in class today.  This project will take the place of a written exam over chapter 3.  Students will be responsible for creating a written and oral presentation over a location they have chosen.  Students will need to complete research over the weekend so they are prepared to work in class Monday.  A helpful website has been posted under Social Studies Links for this project.    All projects will be due Thursday, Nov. 7th.   The oral presentations will take place in class Thursday and Friday; students are encouraged to have props and be creative!

Students received their quarter two projects today. We will work with these as we work through our reading this quarter.
