End of Quarter Dates

With the end of quarter 3 so close (How did that happen?!), here are the upcoming dates: 

All grades: 
Remember to finish your book talks! You can turn in your dropped quiz next week, and students who improved on MAPS will also not have to do Membean next week. Be sure your notebooks are in order. Extra credit from Membean is due next Thursday. 

8th: 
- Compound Sentences test THURS 3/5
- TKAM test TUES 3/10

7th: 
- Outsiders test MON 3/9
- Outsiders dress-up day TUES 3/10: The students will learn about this in class tomorrow, but we will be dressing down while we watch The Outsiders movie, as the classes have done in years past. The attire must be school appropriate. Students choose if they are a Soc or a Greaser. We will be doing this on Tuesday, March 10th. There will be no fake weapons, cigarettes, leggings, or Ugg-style boots. We will be brainstorming in class what each group might have worn. Thanks! Please email me if you have questions.

The 7th and 8th grade had the chance to hear from some of our students from last year! We talked a lot about being ready for high school and what skills would be helpful for our middle schoolers, regardless of what high school they choose. 7th Grade Social Studies

7th Grade Social Studies 7th Grade was given a project outline/requirements/instructions in class today.  This project will take the place of a written exam over chapter 3.  Students will be responsible for creating a written and oral presentation over a location they have chosen.  Students will need to complete research over the weekend so they are prepared to work in class Monday.  A helpful website has been posted under Social Studies Links for this project.    All projects will be due Thursday, Nov. 7th.   The oral presentations will take place in class Thursday and Friday; students are encouraged to have props and be creative!

Quarter 2 projects

Students received their quarter two projects today. We will work with these as we work through our reading this quarter.
