Welcome Back/ Upcoming field trips.

Welcome back, middle school families!  Today went very quickly, and it was such a joy to see all the students' positive attitudes as we start a new year.

Today we sent a permission slip home with your child(ren) for our upcoming field trip to Tall Oaks on September 6- a challenge course that students will participate in with their Houses.  See the permission slip for more information.  We'd love to have the permission slips, volunteer forms, and money in by Friday, August 23. 

8th Grade parents, mark your calendars for the 8th Grade Pro-Life Forum at Church of the Nativity on Wednesday, October 16 from 9:30-11am.  We will need parent drivers and volunteers to attend with the 8th grade students. The permission slips will be sent home in the next couple weeks.

The 7th and 8th grade had the chance to hear from some of our students from last year! We talked a lot about being ready for high school and what skills would be helpful for our middle schoolers, regardless of what high school they choose. Thanks so much to our 9th graders for this great information! Feel free to talk to your child about what he or she learned.

7th Grade Social Studies

7th Grade Social Studies 7th Grade was given a project outline/requirements/instructions in class today.  This project will take the place of a written exam over chapter 3.  Students will be responsible for creating a written and oral presentation over a location they have chosen.  Students will need to complete research over the weekend so they are prepared to work in class Monday.  A helpful website has been posted under Social Studies Links for this project.    All projects will be due Thursday, Nov. 7th.   The oral presentations will take place in class Thursday and Friday; students are encouraged to have props and be creative!

Quarter 2 projects

Students received their quarter two projects today. We will work with these as we work through our reading this quarter.
