Dear Parents, Battle of the Books is a reading competition program, which has been used in schools for more than one hundred years. The sole purpose of Battle of the Books is to support students in their love and discovery for reading by introducing them to quality literature, to offer books that build upon historical values and the dignity of life, and to develop friendships between students based upon socialization competition, and mutual respect! If you have a student who doesn’t like to read, this just might be the motivational tool they need! The book selections in the past have been inspirational, heartwarming, funny, magical, thrilling and thought provoking just to say the least! There are books for the reluctant reader and for the reader who needs a challenge!
