Siena House did an awesome job today researching St. Catherine of Siena. Interesting facts they learned: - Her body is incorruptible, and you can still see her head in Siena, Italy. - While alive, she levitated during prayer. - She was one of 25 children. - She is the patron saint of nurses and the sick because she was often sick. "The soul is in God and God in the soul, just as the fish is in the sea and the sea in the fish." St. Catherine, pray for us!

Timber Ridge Update

Timber Ridge for the Coming Week Heads Up: Due to an oversight we made, if you have a student who is in Siena House, he or she will be going to Timber Ridge on Thursday, not Friday. The only house going on Friday is John Paul II. Please make sure your student has breakfast, and a lunch on the day of Timber Ridge. Students will not have a snack time; they also will need to have a water bottle so that they keep hydrated. The challenge course runs from 9-3, so plan on a late pickup. Students should be back by 3:30, and no later than 3:45 . If it is raining, event will be canceled and rescheduled for another day. If a House event should get rained out, students will follow their normal schedule. Tips from Timber Ridge Timber Ridge Adventure Center is run by a Certified Challenge Course Manager and is the only facility in the area where facilitators are certified or working towards certification as a challenge course facilitator Level 1 or Level 2 by the Association for Challenge...

Check out the posters students made last week in House. Each House incorporated a quote from their saint and reflected on what it means for them. Siena House: "If you are what you should be, you will set the whole world on fire." -- St. Catherine of Siena

Tall Oaks!

Image
Well I think it is safe to say that Tall Oaks was a success!! We have all heard great feedback on the trip and a number of the students have said they want to go back...THIS YEAR!! I'd like to give a shout out to Peggy Kelly for doing the bulk of the organization work. She took the time to contact Tall Oaks from the very beginning and we all thought the day went wonderfully! Below is a picture of some members of the Seton house and Siena house working together to get everyone on the large teeter-totter. It took a few tries but they did get it! This picture is one we took before we left school of the Seton House. Go Eagles! Again, it was a great trip and we are already looking forward to going back! Have a great rest of the week! Mrs. Summers
