We've finished our first full week of school! Both classes have been working on setting up their notebooks, talking about reading for the year, and figuring out how they learn best. 8th graders have been also working on parts of speech. We started with subjects and verbs, and they will have a quiz in a couple weeks.   Working about words about me Exemplars of words about me -- nice work!

7th graders are wrapping up their reading of Flowers for Algernon  with a Socratic Circle today. They had some very interesting discussions about knowledge and its power! They did a great job connecting with the story.  Congrats to these students! They all read more than 33 books this year -- very impressive! The group of students read a combined 568 books this year. Rockstar readers! We celebrated with a lunch at Freddy's.
